Unicaf University in Zambia Coordinates Seminar on Land and Housing Issues
Unicaf University recently hosted the 2022 Land and Housing Development Dialogue Seminar, a joint initiative between the Zambia Institute of Planners (ZIP) and Unicaf University. The activities of this project are to conduct research, facilitate the issuance of title deeds and take part in community interactions such as securing land rights as well as urban and regional planning.
The ceremony was inaugurated by Unicaf University Vice-Chancellor, Dr Christine Mushibwe in the presence of a pool of experts from ZIP. The aim of this joint enterprise was designed to bring together technocrats from all walks of life including government, private sector organisations, NGOs, and civil society organisations to discuss and deliberate pertinent issues surrounding Land and Housing Development.
A specialist panel brought a wealth of knowledge to the discussion which was moderated by Unicaf University Zambia Registrar, Ms Nyamutuma Mwandila. The topic addressed was the current need to identify the reality of the housing shortage and to discuss new ways in which to face the increase in demand for serviced land and housing within Zambia.
The Zambia Institute of Planners (ZIP) is a statutory body created by the Urban and Regional Planners Act of 2011 of the Laws of Zambia. Their mandate is to register planners and regulate the provision of planning services in Zambia.
